We need your help to continue over 800 years of providing safe warm homes for local people in need

For generations, Newbury Almshouse Trust has quietly cared for its homes and residents. But the cost of preserving historic almshouses has risen sharply.

Our buildings are beautiful, but they are also old, complex and expensive to maintain. Many are listed or historically sensitive, which means improvement works must be carefully planned and sympathetically carried out. Modern expectations around safety, energy efficiency, damp and mould management, electrical standards, fire safety and accessibility all require investment.

The Trust is determined to protect both sides of its mission, to preserve Newbury’s almshouse heritage and to provide safe, warm, decent homes for local people in need.

That cannot be achieved through resident contributions alone.

We need your help to continue our important, vital work. Donate today to help us provide safe, warm homes to local people in need.

You can donate through the Good Exchange to help fund our campaign to renovate Upper Raymond's Almshouses, through your will or through workplace donations.
