Volunteer Opportunity: Operations Director

Newbury Almshouse Trust are seeking a committed and experienced volunteer Operations Director to join our supportive and friendly board of trustees. This vital, unpaid role is ideal for someone with a background in residential property renovations, refurbishments, or building management, who is passionate about making a real difference to the lives of our local Newbury residents.

 

As Operations Director, you’ll oversee the smooth running of our properties, working with a team of resident liaison officers (Proctors) to ensure our residents’ needs are met with care and professionalism. Your practical knowledge and people skills will help maintain the high standards of our homes and community. We expect that this role should require a commitment of around five hours per week.

 

The Trust has a long history, providing affordable housing to people in and around Newbury for over 800 years. A large proportion of our 42 properties are some of the oldest buildings in Newbury. These historic houses need a lot of care and attention, and our organisation is committed to making sure that we can help as many people as possible benefit from the intentions of the original charitable founders.
